Three Ways You Can Prepare for Hajj Today!

As many of you already know, early preparation is the key to a successful and meaningful journey. Acquiring a package on the Nusuk Hajj platform is often the first hurdle — and, in many ways, the first test — of your Hajj.

But the journey of Hajj begins long before you arrive in Makkah. It begins with intention, preparation, and readiness — both of the body and the heart.

While verifications for the Hajj 2026 season have not yet launched on Nusuk, here are three ways you can begin preparing for your Hajj journey today:

1. Ensure Passport Validity

To travel internationally, your passport must be valid for at least six months from your return date. For Hajj 2026, this means your passport should be valid until December 2026.

For U.S. passport holders, if your passport expires within a year, you can renew it online right away.

While it’s possible to update your passport later, doing it now will give you peace of mind and allow you to focus on spiritual rather than logistical preparation when the time comes.

2. Prepare Financially

For many of us, financial readiness is one of the most important steps toward Hajj. Packages on Nusuk typically range from $9,000–$20,000 USD+, depending on your preferences.

Just as significant as the amount itself is how you plan to pay. Nusuk offers multiple payment methods, but credit cards with 0% foreign transaction fees tend to be the most convenient and cost-effective.

If you don’t already have one, consider applying for one now. If you do, check your credit limit and request an increase if needed — simply for smoother processing. We recommend using a credit card for ease and security, but paying it off in full to avoid interest.

Remember: your financial preparation is not just practical, but spiritual — as you are setting aside what Allah has blessed you with for one of the greatest acts of worship in your life.

3. Plan Your Time Off

For those balancing demanding careers or family responsibilities, planning time off for Hajj can be tricky. While it may still feel early, it’s wise to start thinking about it now!

The shortest Hajj packages are around 10 days, with 14–16 days being the average and some extending beyond 20 days. Ten-day packages are often called express packages — they’re faster-paced, physically demanding, and among the more expensive options on Nusuk.

For planning purposes, consider saving at least 10 vacation days for Hajj. A typical 10-day package might run from May 20 to May 31, 2026. The good news? Hajj coincides with Memorial Day weekend, so that’s one extra day off already accounted for!
